June Highlights: Scholarships, Summer Support & Stronger Community Ties

June was an incredible month filled with action, advocacy, and connection. At Thimbrel Worldwide, we stayed true to our mission — serving the community, uplifting youth, and championing safety. From scholarship awards to street-level hydration efforts, here’s what we accomplished this month:

🎓 Scholarships for Student Excellence

We’re proud to share that we raised over $500 by selling our signature air fresheners to support educational excellence at Harriet Tubman Charter School. These funds helped us award scholarships to both the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of the graduating class.

Our President, Myles Thimbrel, had the honor of presenting the scholarships following his impactful keynote speech. You can now watch his full speech on YouTube and Instagram — we encourage you to check it out and share with your networks!

📋 Petitioning for the Edgecombe Block Party

This month, we launched a petition to gain support for the upcoming Edgecombe Back to School Block Party — and the response was amazing! Over 250+ community members signed in support.

We successfully submitted our event application to NYC SAPO, and now we await permit approval. Fingers crossed! Thank you to everyone who added their name and helped push this community celebration forward.

💧 Launching: The NY Quench Quest

June marked the beginning of a brand new summer initiative — NY Quench Quest.

This campaign invites individuals and businesses to pledge donations so we can provide ice-cold water to the community on extremely hot days throughout the summer. It’s a simple act of kindness that can go a long way when temperatures rise.

Want to be part of it? Stay tuned for upcoming donation and volunteer opportunities!

🏀 Courtside at Rucker Park

We were proud to attend several basketball games at the legendary Rucker Park, showing support for local Harlem athletes and the broader community. There’s nothing like watching hometown talent shine — and nothing more meaningful than being part of the energy that brings us together.

🚗 Safer Streets Advocacy at SHOA2

On June 17, Myles Thimbrel spoke at the SHOA2 Homeowners Meeting to address the dangerous blindspots at the entrance and exit of the SHOA2 parking lot.

He presented a formal letter to the NYC Department of Transportation requesting a dome mirror installation. The proposal received outstanding support from local homeowners, who are now backing the effort through a community petition.

This is a major step forward in our campaign for safer streets, and we’re thankful to have the support of engaged, proactive neighbors.

🙌 Moving Forward

From scholarships to safety initiatives, June has been a month of heart, hustle, and hope. Thank you to everyone who donated, signed, showed up, or shared our work.

Stay connected, stay inspired — and we’ll see you in July.

May Monthly Recap: Building Partnerships, Empowering Youth & Expanding Our Vision

As we wrap up the month of May, we’re proud to share the meaningful strides we’ve made to uplift our community, engage with local leaders, and push forward innovative ideas. Here’s a quick look at what we accomplished this month:

🌟 Partnering with Swish Athletics

We officially partnered with Swish Athletics to create The Kids Excellence Awards, a new event that will celebrate the achievements of outstanding youth in our community. The inaugural awards ceremony is set for August, and we’re excited to recognize the next generation of leaders, athletes, and change-makers.

🚧 Advocating for Safer Streets

This month, we attended city council meetings, met with local politicians, and presented a community safety initiative: installing a dome mirror outside of a local parking lot to reduce blind spots and prevent near-miss accidents. It’s a small change with the potential to make a big impact on daily safety.

🌬️ Fundraising for Future Graduates

To support graduating students from Harriet Tubman Charter School, we launched a fundraiser selling custom air fresheners for just $6. All proceeds will go toward presenting scholarships at the school’s graduation in June. Thank you to everyone who’s supported this cause — you’re investing in a brighter future!

🎉 Block Party Planning Underway

We’ve begun consulting the idea of a Community Block Party for this August. While the event is still in the early planning stages, we’re excited about the potential to bring neighbors together for a day of fun, music, local vendors, and unity.

🎓 President Thimbrel to Deliver Keynote

We’re proud to announce that our President, Myles Thimbrel, has been selected as the keynote speaker for the Harriet Tubman Charter School graduation in June. His leadership and commitment to community impact make him the perfect voice to inspire the graduating class.

🔗 NFC Keychains Are Here!

In collaboration with MG3D Prints, we launched a new line of Thimbrel Worldwide keychains fitted with NFC chips that link directly to our website. These sleek, tech-enabled keychains are a fun and interactive way to stay connected with our mission.

Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout May. We’re energized by the momentum and excited for what’s to come this summer.

Stay tuned — big things are ahead!

Agenda for 2025

Dear Community Members,

We hope this letter finds you well. As we step into the year 2025, we are excited to share our vision and plans for how Thimbrel Worldwide will continue to serve and uplift our community in meaningful ways.

Our mission has always been to create positive change, foster connections, and address the challenges our community faces. This year, we are committed to expanding our efforts and introducing new initiatives that align with the needs and aspirations of our community. Below are some of the key projects and programs we are launching in 2025:

1. Community Empowerment Programs

  • Youth Mentorship: A mentorship program will pair young people with community leaders to inspire, guide, and prepare them for future opportunities.

  • Scholarships and Awards: We are proud to announce that we will be providing scholarships and awards to deserving young individuals in our community. These initiatives will help support their educational aspirations and recognize their hard work and achievements.

2. Neighborhood Safety Initiatives

  • Blind Spot Mirrors Installation: To improve safety at intersections and areas with limited visibility, we will be installing dome mirrors in strategic locations throughout the neighborhood. These mirrors will help reduce accidents and ensure safer passage for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

  • Neighborhood Cleanups: We will organize monthly cleanup drives to maintain the beauty and safety of our parks, streets, and public spaces.

3. Support for Vulnerable Populations

  • Food and Clothing Drives: Quarterly drives will support families in need, ensuring everyone has access to essential resources.

  • Senior Assistance Program: We will provide volunteer support to assist seniors with errands, companionship, and home maintenance.

4. Community Engagement and Connection

  • Free Libraries in Clason Point: We are excited to announce the installation of free community libraries in Clason Point. This library will provide books for all ages and encourage reading and sharing within our neighborhood. Once installed, we invite everyone to donate books or simply take one to enjoy. Locations of these libraries will be posted on Thimbrel.com as well as to our various social media accounts.

  • Monthly Blog Posts: We will also be uploading monthly blog posts on our website, Thimbrel.com, to keep you informed about our activities, highlight community stories, and share ways you can get involved. Be sure to check in regularly for updates!

5. Advocacy and Partnerships

We will continue to collaborate with local businesses, schools, and government agencies to bring valuable resources and opportunities to our community. By working together, we can achieve more and address issues like affordable housing, education gaps, and healthcare access.

At Thimbrel Worldwide, we believe that meaningful change is only possible when we work together. That’s why we are inviting you to join us in these efforts—whether by volunteering your time, sharing your expertise, or simply spreading the word about our initiatives.

Together, we can make 2025 a year of growth, connection, and progress for our community. Thank you for your continued support and trust in Thimbrel Worldwide. We look forward to working alongside you to make a lasting impact.
